new engine in K5

I have it installed and running. Still have some tunning to do with dizy and carb but I am happy with the upgrade so far. Aint she perty?

Congrats on the motor. I'm doing the same thing. Putting in a 305 while the 350 gets built. Mario

Help me remember, was this a basic rebuild or did you hop it up some? Congrats on getting it in and running.

Sure makes it easy to do with the front clip off.

Hoped up a little Yukon. I had the block cleaned and honed and the crank had to be turned 10/20. I went with the Ram Jet cam that racinjason put me on. I cleaned and reused the internals. New aluminum intake and a Holly Truck Avenger 670cfm carb. Headers. 3 inch pipes and 40 series Flowmasters. I stabbed the old HEI with new wires.
I am planning on pulling the the dizy this weekend and replacing the gear with the softer one that is used with the vortecs. I am hopping that will finish the tune for me.

Oh yeah. removing the front clip is a must.
