worktruck's getting painted today

It's been in the shop a month, but the old work truck's getting a new paintjob today - '03 Infinity white ivory pearl. Added a cowl hood, shaved the handles, stake bed pockets, and antennae hole, also.
Should look pretty good.

I like the rims/tires I've got.
I only gave $550 for them brand new.
I can't see peeling off $2000 for 20's/tires.
It's a work truck/everyday driver.
Beds always full of paint, acetone, lacquer thinner, and a bunch of other stuff I use for striping.
Can't see doing anything else to it that might compromise everyday driveability, reliability, and comfort.......although.... I do have that 435 horse 383 sitting in the garage....and that TPI unit needs to go on something...a custom chip..a new fuel pump and...

HOK only.
No more call backs because someone leaned against a wet stripe.

How forgiving is it if you make a mistake? I know with 1-Shot, I can wipe and restart. Should a rookie like me even go near HOK or stick with the 1-Shot?

You can wipe the HOK off as long as you do it pretty quickly after you have put it on the paint. I mean, within 60-90 seconds. It is a catalyzed paint, and will "eat into" the painted surface. That's one reason it sticks so well. If you wipe it off after a longer time, it will leave a "shadow" of the stripe/design where it was applied.
Don't even try to wipe it off fresh paint, i.e. painted that day.
As far as learning with HOK, it requires you to work much faster as it dries very quickly depending on the reducer you use. There are occasions where I will be doing a design, and you can actually see the paint drying on the brush and starting to skip.
I would practice with 1-shot until you get the speed and skill to use HOK.
Later,
SC
