pullin a 65 caprice heater control... what to take???
FOund a 65 impala with a pretty unmolested interior.. I have read about putting hte heater control in our trucks, but nothing seems to answer what I should take out of the car other than the main control... the cables look like they could be a bit** to get out, but will I need them along with it???

in short, get everything. There is more that you need, but there is more that you will be wanting later..
Avoid the "what-if" and just go in for the win

I'm using the truck cables in mine. Here is a thread about it.

Re: pullin a 65 caprice heater control... what to take???
thanks guys... sdkid I had looked at your post when I was reading up on it... great pics..my big concern is this... The "yard" im ;pulling from has the crusher out there right now, and im not sure whats goin or stayin, so I have been trying to grab as much as I can before it goes to China... but i get about 2 hours of daylight after I can leave school (contract hours) so time is a premium... I pulled a van tilt last night and I have my eye on a few bucket seats from a dodge van and a Jeep Cherokee J10 (always liked them and thoguht they may go good in a non original resto truck, and a set of 15x7 turbine wheels along with a set of 15x7 Olds SSIII's.... so anyway, thats the poop... now getting back to the use of the caprice controls, is there any factory part that I can use to change direction of the cable that the caprice one operates in reverse than the truck???? Thanks in advance!!!!

Yeah I know.. but this one is just a 4 door 230 no option grandma car... original but very minnesota rusty... you can find alot of mint intereior parts and trim things up here, but you have to sell them for a profit so you can afford the sheetmetal you need...

Re: pullin a 65 caprice heater control... what to take???
In the previously linked post, Bob Moore mentioned "The bellcrank came from mid to late seventies Chev PU heater or AC set-up." I checked an '80 Chevy PU with no-AC and a '76 Suburban with AC and neither had a bellcrank under the dash. I'll keep looking.
