Suggestions what to do first - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have 67 c10 stepside bone stock except a 350 PO installed behind the the original 4 speed manual. Non powew everything. I would like some input on what you guys would recomend to do first. Almost forgot got drums all the way around. Thanks in adavance.

Depends on what you want to do with it. Daily driver? weekend toy? Either way, power disc brakes might be a good place to start if the drive train is in good shape.

It could be a daily driver but more of a weekend toy the drivetrain is good for now but I do want to put a 700r4 from a 1986 corvette that some left at my property. Does any body know how much it would be to rebuild a 700r4 from a vette to street/strip and maybe towing performance? But my future plans are to a gen iii 4l808 combo later. And put the 700r4 in my 1979 malibu classic 2dr.

My skill level is okay but I'm a fast learner and can acomplish almost anything with patience. And lots of info.

There are many very talented folks here that can give you detailed instruction with pics. You're in the right place!

I'm assuming you just got this truck (?) since you are asking what to do first.
I would change the oil in everything,change the coolant,lube all the suspension points,check the brakes and replace ANYTHING that isn't up to specs. Do a thorough safety check including of the suspension,steering,drive-line etc.Check the fuel lines from the tank to the carb.Check all the lights,Etc Etc.
Don't even think about performance mods until you have a fully operational and safe and fully serviced truck.

I agree with the above.Then drive it.Drive it a lot.Pay attention to it> And keep a notebook handy to write down anything you would like to change.Then you will have a list of things you want to do and can plan the best way to reach your desired goal.This method will save you,time,money and your sanity.A good plan will keep you from doing something over.From having to tear something you've already done apart to do something else and help to build a truck with good style.
One thing I see is people throwing a lot of mods at something that in the end is not very appealing because it doesn't work well together.

Change the brake fluid! (in addition to everything else) Get rid of that black chunky stuff that's rusting things away. THen go find all the little stupid things that the PO did (or didn't fix) and take care of them so it won't make you crazy every time you drive your truck.
In the meantime you can work on a plan for what you want to do with your truck. I'm still working on my plan..
