'68 fenders with a '72 hood?
Will they work together? I am not worried about the core support or any of the other mounts. The fenders and the hood will be fiberglass therefore have different mounts anyway. The problem I am having is, the fenders that I want are molded after the '68, but I want the '72 style hood. Any info? Thanks.

The 71 or 72 hood will be too short to work correcty.

Re: '68 fenders with a '72 hood?
Too short as far as front to rear? If thats the case, I can trim the fenders to fit the hood. Will the lines, or the mating surface match where the hood meet the top of the fenders along the whole seam? Thanks for the reply!!

You can lay back the nose of a 69/72 to work with 67/68 fenders, there is a white
2wd blazer on Evil bay (Been on there for months) that did it, looks really sharp

You can use 68 fenders and a 72 hood...You just need to put a GMC grill and all the trim around the grill on it...That's the way GMC's are.

Re: '68 fenders with a '72 hood?
This is the one I speak of, he laid back a 69-72 hood on a 69-72 clip. It gives
the illusion of a 67/68 hood. Not sure what was involved in doing the grafting. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-...QQcmdZViewItem Not exactly what I phrased originally, but anything can be done with some work.

Re: '68 fenders with a '72 hood?
I see what you are saying. I want the look of a '72 hood on '68 style fenders. I am not a big fan of the slant nose look.

Re: '68 fenders with a '72 hood?
You stated you were going to use fiberglass fenders.
Did you find someone that makes them or you going to make your own? I been looking for some for a long time with no luck. Just curious

Re: '68 fenders with a '72 hood?
There is a guy that make the fenders I want (flared, Baja/prerunner style), but they are for the '68 style front clip. I like my '72 style.

Re: '68 fenders with a '72 hood?
Thanks for the link, too bad they did not make their own bed sides like they did the front fenders. I have saved all his pics for a future build

Re: '68 fenders with a '72 hood?
Here's one with the opposite scenario='67 hood and '69-'72 fenders
You can see the problem with the leading edge, about 3/4" longer. Sooooo, think opposite of this condition Your fenders are going tobe long and your hood short
