does anyone know where to get new hardware (cone washers and studs) for these? im attempting to put a lift arm on the k20, and so far have broken one stud. if i can find new hardware ill just drill out the old studs, but i dont want to drill it out if i cant fix it.

also, its been a while since this has been discussed, any new easy ways to get these

off?

Ebay sells them ord sells them shaker 4x4 has them any one that sells cross over steering will have them so they are easy to get as for getting it off lots of heat and a BFH.

A jumbo can of elbow grease ans a BFH.And,PB-Blaster.Use heat to break the monotiny.Just smack that knuckle until they pop.Ah but it`s a lovely site,I tell ya,seein`those cones comin` outta there,laddy.

woohoo!! 6 hours, multiple invented cuss words, two charges of the 19.2 craftsman battery, and its off!! i finally managed to drill the studs down a bit to break the cones free, then with some more beating and banging the cones popped up. got 3 studs on the way

special-- i think the cones popping up had to be about the most rewarding site in quiet a while

I tore my d60 down and had the same trouble it doesnt even have cones it just would not come off. I beat on it for 4 hours and then gave up came back the next day hit it 3 times and it fel off just my luck.

Better to hit down on the arm than up. Hitting up on the bottem of the arm just locks the cones in better. Hitting down on the top shocks the cones loose.

Not to rub salt in the wound but mine came off in under 10 minutes with minimal effort. And it was a rusty SOB too.

now for the real kicker, i just removed all 3 studs out of the steering knuckle in under 30 minutes

this truck has a severe PITA bone

On the cone Washers, i take a hardened steel spacer that slides over the stud, and beat it down into the cone washer, spray cone with POS oil, repeat, repeat, bang arm, repeat....
anyway, bouncing the cones like that seem to help free them.

invest in a air hammer and a can of pb blaster mine popped of in minutes
