what size ring gear

i have an 85 with a 10 bolt rear end how can i tell if it is a 7.5 inch or 8.5 inch ring gear

8.5" 10 bolt with 28 spline if original ...they didnt put 7.5 in trucks (el camino doesnt count as a truck)

http://www.oldsmobility.com/10bolt-tech.htm shows how to tell 7.5" from 8.5" in case you go searching for used innards or something.
