10.5cfm for $250 ??
Was browsing through the local Sears. Stopped by the air compressors and saw their <DeVilbiss, vertical, black, single stage, 60gal, 135psi> $499 model #18417 on clearance for
$249.99. Of course they don't have any more in stock, can't order any, and the nearest 5 Sears stores don't have any either. But, if you're looking for a compressor, this seems to be a decent size for the price. That is, if you can find a store that still has one. Cheers, Rick/nosto/ Still lookin' for more cfm |

I have a 7 hp 60 gallon single stage compressor 135 psi.
(wish I would've got a two stage ) You should check to see if its a two stage or not. Two stages are far superior- less wait time, with little more investment. Remember its a tool you should buy one for life not to get you by and replace in a few years. I should have read your post slower, I see it's a single stage. Not a bad price though!

I have a 5 hp/ 2 stage/80 gal tank, 18 cfm @ 175 psi, it wasnt cheap at $1200.......but i have been workin the nuts off it for 15 yrs! alot of the "high end"air tools like a die grinder take about 12 cfm to run , & sand blasting really eats the air! I have a pressurized blaster canister that i use for small parts, & have a little wait time while blasting. watch out for the 'oiless " compressors(sealed pump), that you cant add or change oil in.....they are a throw away item & a lot of the cheaper units are set up this way. Take a look at the air tools you plan to use, & get an idea what you need for compressor sizing, then be prepaired to spend a little extra cash.......in the long run you will be happier. good luck......crazy longhorn
