How hard is it to....

remove the bed from a 71 swb stepside? i only see four bolts to take the whole thing off am i missing something?

if memory serves me right there are usually 8 but most ppl never put them all back in

Yes.. what he said but don't forget check for wires for tail lights & trailer wiring that may be attached too..otherwise you will be doing some electrical splicing on your reinstallation...possibly could be easier to cut the nuts off as most will probally be well attached with the unwanted rust/corroded option..

Soak the bolts over night with WD40 and call your buddys over.

8 bolts, 4 fender supports (Dont forget these or you will bend the fenders) and wiring.

the bed was taken off about three years ago to put new bedwood in. i looked today and the bolts look like they were put in their yesterday, no rust at all. anyways do you have to take the bed apart to get the wood out(needs to be refinished) or will it come out without taking the bedsides apart?
