Hey all, I'm moving from SC to WA in June, (Navy) and I want to ship my truck over there, but I don't know any good car hauling services to do this.
Any reccomendations? or is anyone looking for a side job? LOL
any help would be apperciated

Reliable has some pretty nice rigs, but who ever you choose make sure they have insurance ,if anything happenes to your truck on the way.

Store your truck and buy another one when you get here...there are plenty around at very reasonable prices. Just a thought. We have a great bunch of enthusiats here so make sure you attend the NW functions.

How much are you willing to pay for deliverary. I have a nice truck and trailer. Of course I would probablly have to have more than a shipper would but it would be taken better care of if I delivered it for ya.

I take it the military won't do it? They shipped my sister's car, but she was stationed in Hawaii, so maybe they had to.

Yeah the military only ships to Hawaii, and not in the continential 48. I would drive the truck, but I have a wife and a kid, and that wont be comfortable, and I cant trailer it, cuz I have a 6 cyl jeep grand cherokee, and I dont think it will do well in the mountains. But thanks for those recommendations.
Still looking for a shipper though, and yeah I know for someone to drive on thier own might want more than a company, but maybe some one wont, and hopefully they wont just pickup my truck and never deliver it.
Basically, I was looking for some recommendations on companies that ship vehicles, Anyone know if I can get it to go by rail? who knows.. we shall see what happens.
Maybe someone wants to share a truck? lots of coordination with that one though.. just a thought.

My brother just shipped from B'ham, AL to Monterey, CA for about $800.

His truck is a little later model S-10.

Made the same trip from Chsn. to Bremerton back in '74. The guys who didn't warrant shipping their vehicles, we loaded them onboard and they went with us. The guys that could were loaded on a transport and brought around for them. "Uncle sugar" doesn't do that anymore?

ebay has spawned a new industry of car haulers. You've probably noticed in the last few years all these dually pickups pulling 3 car trailers. They're all over the place. Problem is, they all work for brokers. And, when there's a problem, good luck collecting on your claim. I buy/restore/sell mustangs and mopars. A couple years ago I had a 67 Charger shipped to me. It was damaged big-time by the shipper. Basically he didn't have it tied down properly and when he went around a corner on an interstate exit ramp the car came close to falling completely off the trailer. He had Lloyds of London insurance. I was having the car shipped from Indiana to Virginia and the trucker was from New York City. I took me four months to get my money. And, for a while I didn't think I would get a thing unless I was willing to go to New York to file a claim. Some advise, deal with a broker that's in the state where you're moving. And, for just a little more you can get an enclosed trailer. I deal exclusively now with a neighbor who had his own transport company and brokerage Kustom Auto Transport of Troutville, VA. He's a honest, stand-up guy and has enclosed trailers. If you're interested, give him a call, his name is Pat, tell him Bill sent you.

I would try, and have used www.uship.com with excellent results.

You put up the route (orgin/destination) and then you can set a price point or you can take all the bids...

I had a guy deliver a truck from W. Kentucky up to me in Ohio and it wasn't that pricey and he worked around my schedule. You put $50 on a credit card and can pay the balance on delivery (it worked out great).

Make sure to ask plenty of questions and review the shipper's credentials and feedback.

I had no problems at all (maybe I was lucky).

I used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) at http://www.dasautoshippers.com/ to ship my truck. Worked out well for me.

X2 they are here locally and the cars i buy in other states i have shipped DAS to me. i have had nothing but good luck with them.
