What do you presently have for a motor and tranny setup? You can gain some with a change in the intake and rocker arm ratios, but the real change will be in the cam and what type of head you use.

Right now the engine is mainly stock. It's a goodwrench 350 with a cast iron 4bbl intake and the stock manifolds. Bolted up to a turbo 400, and I still havent got around to looking at the differential much.

The Summit 1102 cam kit is a good option for stock heads. It's the Edelbrock Performer cam in a white box. Makes good power from idle to about 4500-5000RPM.
Also, long tube headers, and a true dual exhaust with an H or X pipe give you better low end grunt. I had headers with glasspacks bolted to them previously, and the power didn't start to pick up till about 3000 RPM. Since adding a full exhaust system all the way out to the rear bumper with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers and an H pipe, I got much better low end grunt. |
