Frame Cutting Behind the Cab
I know there is a post on cutting the frame under the cab to make a SWB but im wondering if there is any info on doing it BEHIND the cab. I know its been done. I just dont want to lift up the cab.

There should be 12" straight inches of frame between the cab and the front shackles. You should be able to cut that out using a 45 degree cut or a step.

I dont see a probnlem cutting behind the cab on that one......the reason the coil trucks are cut under the cab is cause you dont have to mess with moving the crossmember for the trailing arms. What yr is the truck?

mine was cut behind the cab by a prevous owner. straight cut and boxed. not how i would have done it but it's been over 10 years now with no problems and was used as a mud truck before i got it
