No Dash lites

85 C10 Scottsdale, BASIC Truck . Nothing on it with a 4.3 V6. Lights on the heater control lite up, but that is all. Fuses are ok. There is not an interior lite, but I intend to install one eventually. Brite lite indicator is on when low beam are on, but go off when I hit the high beam. Turn indicators are sometimes dimly on. Fuel gauge sometimes works and sometimes not. All exterior lites work including reverse and turn indicators, horn and wipers. Truck sat for 2 years but we did a lot of work to get it running very nice. All the electrical stuff just started happening. I have been driving the truck for about a year, and it runs very nice. Also cannot get Power steering pump loose to tighten belt. Bolts come loose, but it seems to be hung on something. Lights are very urgent. Thanx. Bill

Re: No Dash lites

okay.. this may sound stupid... BUT, try pulling out your gauge bezel, there should be a bundle of wires that plug into the back of where your bluish/white rear gauge bezel is, make sure that they are plugged in there tight, if not that be de problem...

if they are plugged in all the way, check and be sure that your dash light bulbs aren't burnt out... if they are, replace them.

and STILL if that isnt the problem, your circuit board is screwed...

yw...

Re: No Dash lites

You say the blinker indicators are sometimes on dim but your blinkers work. Usually when they are on dim one of the bulbs is bad or not making a good connection. Next time you see this check you lights, they probably won't all be working, just a bad connection on one of the bulbs. Pull all of the blinker bulbs and clean sockets and bulbs and apply electrical grease and it should fix that problem.
