NP241 RH/LH Differences?
How interchangeable are NP241C cases? Can I take an NV4500/NP241 LH-drop and just bolt an NP241 RH-drop in it`s place? How about any differences in an NP241 from behind a 4L80E and one from behind an NV 4500?

Re: NP241 RH/LH Differences?
both should be 32 spline, prividing you have the proper adapters for the 4500, this shouldnt be a problem.

Re: NP241 RH/LH Differences?
Where is the NV4500 from?
1 ton Chevy should be 32 spline output Dodge output is 23 or 29, I think...both should be the round 6 bolt pattern. I have several 241's here, as well as a 271 from behind a Chevy NV4500. I think the GM NV4500 and 4L80E use different length output shafts, but it shouldn't be too hard to make a spacer if required. Last edited by FormerMember; 01-28-2008 at 06:14 AM. |

Re: NP241 RH/LH Differences?
I know the newer 4l80e trannys are clocked as far as how the t-case bolts up. Meaning it can only go on in one spot, the studs are not symetrical all around. If the older one's, like yours, are the same way, I don't think you could swap between a left and right hand drop without the front output being in a really weird spot. Hope this helps some.
