My dream car! for $500!

I was scanning through ebay lookin at 70 Chevelles... and i found this! A 1970 Chevelle malibu with no engine or trans! Im seriously thinking on getting this! I need this car! Thinking of making a 1970 Chevelle LS6 clone and this would be a perfect car to start with!

Re: My dream car! for $500!

well my experience in trying to sell some old cars and trucks these past couple of weeks. They aren't going for as much as they usually do. So you might luck out and get it pretty reasonable.

You should do it. My buddy just sold his 70 SS clone for 26K this weekend... and it wasn't an auction.

Re: My dream car! for $500!

do you have a trailer that you can take to virginia to get it or will you be paying to have it transported? seems to me that would add alot to the price of a stripped down car like that

Re: My dream car! for $500!

i think going price is around 800 for transported car, would think it would break down to both for gas, lodging and wear and tear, and at least with semi transported in you have free time instead of having to take time off

Re: My dream car! for $500!

Looks decent could be a fun build. IMO I think leaving it as a Malibu with the 454 and tranny you want would be better than going to clone route. It seems everyone that gets a hold of a Chevelle slaps SS badges on it. Here is mine

Re: My dream car! for $500!

If he comes all the way to Va to get that car, he'll need to swing by my house and get this 454 off me. I have been trying to sell it for some time now.

Ask the seller for his phone number before the auction ends, in case you miss your opportunity.

Re: My dream car! for $500!

with the gas going up and the economy tanking these cars will prolly go down in value in the short term now is prolly the best time to buy one or within the next several months particularly if the government passes the 40 cent gas tax i heard about last week

Re: My dream car! for $500!

I'm not sure of the thicker teeth, but I am pretty sure that the M22 was only offered behind a big blocks . They are hard to come by. I would save myself the trouble and get a tremec 5-6 speed . That way gas mileage won't be as bad.

If you want one bad enough you'll find one.

Mine looked almost exactly like yours ed3196499 when I got it back in the early 80's.

You're kiddin' right???
Just because traditional hotrods and customs are getting popular doesn't mean the parts that look good on them look good on everything else.....
