Help 84 scottdale no power to anything

I drove the truck today and went to shut it off and start it right back out to see if it was okay when I heard a pop under the hood and now I don't have power to anything. I replaced the fusible links by the starter with fuses and heavy duty fuseholders and their is one more fusible link I haven't replaced yet connected to the small junction box on the firewall that goes to the backside of the fuse box(used voltmeter). I have power up to that but nothing else. I just bought this truck PO had electric fans hardwired in so lately the battery light was coming on. Can someone lend a clue? I am lost. Did something overload?

I'd check the battery ground and the groung strap from the block to the frame.

I'd also look at the main lead to the alternator check to see if you have Pwr. there. I had an S10 that had the same problem and the main lead from the alt. cooked and melted in 1/2 i reterminated it and everything had Pwr. again.

I found the problem. The pos and neg batt cables were fried. PO used stereo grade cable on them and the headers just cooked them. I have a small wiring nightmare since the fans were direct wired into the ign so I am going back to stock fan. It is a work in progress so I am starting over.
