center console question

I the trim around the top of the center console chrome or SS? I bought one off ebay and its in bad shape. I'm trying to restore it to its original glory. The trim has been painted and im trying to figure out how to get it off. If its SS then Ill just sand it off, but if its chrome I'm not sure what to do.

Re: center console question

I'd say probably chrome judging by the pitting on mine, but I could be wrong.
I just rubbed it with that NevrDull stuff for a while and it came out OK. Not perfect, but better than it was.
Maybe a bit of paint stripper would take care of the paint, but I'd try a small section first. Hope this helps.
