Missing Trim
Can someone let me know if there should be a trim piece at the lower front edge of the hood on my 71 Cheyenne??, there are 4 pre drilled holes suggesting that there was once something there, I have looked through the catalouges of the major parts stores but found no listing.

Re: Missing Trim
It probably had a bug deflector on it.....not factory, for sure. There is no trim on any of the '67-72 hoods, except for the bowtie emblem on the '69-70's and the CHEVROLET on the '67-8's. 1971-72's had nothing on the hood, unless someone put one of the gargantuan bug shield/wind deflectors on it during the mid-70's, as was the style at the time. Sounds like your had one on it. Check JCWhitney if you want to "restore" it to that style.

Re: Missing Trim
I'm fairly certain 69 and up hoods do not have any trim beyond the aforementioned bowtie emblems, but 67 & 68 CST's (Deluxes) did have chrome trim along the leading edge of the hood that tied into the front eyebrow trim on the fenders. Most guy's opt to remove these pieces and roll with just the letters and grille / headlight chrome.
