You should check with Stllookn. I believe he has cornered the market on those trucks.

Re: 1968 50th

They have gold dash pads and visors and white seats with gold inserts . you will hear from some others on here with more knowledge about them than me . I have one and I learn new stuff about it all the time . I don't know how many of them there are but I haven't seen that many of them . Stllookin is the man who knows all about these trucks and I'm sure he will share his knowledge here for you . Here are some pics of mine !!!!

Re: 1968 50th

welcome to the board.
The main thing that makes a 50th cool, is the seats, and the parts inside. 2 tone seats, glod and white, with a gold dash pad and visors, and white door panels. That combined with the gold and white paint make it one sweet lookin truck in my opinion.
The things to look for on the SPID would be the 551 off white/gold, and the 627 parch Vinal trim.
As for value.... It's more of a neat thing, or a cool thing. If it is already a desirible truck.... say a 396 short/fleet with buckets and A/C... then it is iceing on top of the sweet gold and white cake. However, for the best part, it doesn't seem to add too much to the value.

Re: 1968 50th

Welcome to the board from sunny (no seriously...the sun was shining today) Seattle, WA!

Here are the 50th Anniversary buckets in a truck. If the truck you are looking at has them...BUY IT!

Bob 68327 has one great looking 50th truck with that drop and those wheels...I really like that look!

]V[ike, Welcome...where are you located in the NW? Nice looking truck! How about a closeup of those hubcaps...they look different. I don't see a CST emblem below the window on the door...is it missing? Never mind...I see it now behind the West Coast Jr. mirror arm.

Re: 1968 50th

My truck is/was a 50th anniversary truck. From what I have learned all the 50th's had all the trim and the two tone paint. plus the interior colors are a dead give away. Gold sunvisors and dashpad. Only on the 50th's. I also learned that most of them had the HO 327 put in them which mine was originally.
But unfortunatlly for me most of the trim and interior was missing from mine. Heck i originally bought it just for the bed.

Re: 1968 50th

Since it was only an appearance group and paint option you get it with any engine option. The 327 was an option as was the 396.

im hopefully gonna buy it this summer- its not all out for sale- i saw it at a farm in the middle of no where and so i drove in and asked if they were intrerested in selling it- a old guy gave me a call saying it was his and hed let it go for $1000 - i kinda let it go at that cuz its rough condition- but i guess it all depends on how bad i want it, i got a feeling i can lower him down a bit- i gotta finish up my 75 1st....since im oly 17 my parents want me to finish one project before i buy my 3rd truck.......

Re: 1968 50th

those are some nice lookin 50ths
if i was to get it - i really hope i do- and then i get to restoring it how would a person go about doin the interior. has anybody had anyluck painting a dashpad gold? the dash pad is really the only part besides the steering wheel that i couldnt find through any company. i saw the post about those custom made seat covers- very nice and i think they'd be worth every penny it took to have them made

if anybody sees or has a 50th brochure for sale please let me know.

Re: 1968 50th

Dang, There was a really sweet one with a 396, power everything etc for sale around here really cheap. It's body was in great shape, but the 396 had way less grunt than my 307 does.
If I would have known what it was I would have bought it for sure!

I know someone down here ended up with it!!

stllookn...I am across the pond from you. Puget Sound that is. I am on the Olympic Peninsula. In reply to your question...the badge is kind of obscured by the mirror. I will try to get a pick up a little later of the hubs for you. I don't think they are original but I am unsure. (Mine has a regular bench seat, those buckets are cool)
