Re: power window problem

i'm no expert but working on the same situation on my 88. i just picked up new switches and they work now. I was told that the switches can go bad. They were $18 at o'riley's. i also replace the 30 amp circuit fuses. they ar about $3. The power windows and locks are protected thru these circuits.

yeh, my power locks didn't work either and tonight i bought my second, now both locks work. you have to have two working switches in at the same time or one will not work

Re: power window problem

test the switch and if that doesn't cure the problem look at the wires going from the cab to the door I have seen them break there from excessive bending.

Re: power window problem

I'm not sure about your truck but I have seen switches wired so if the driver door switch looses contact it kills the other. I would take a volt meter and check the driver door switch first. If there is no power there it is fuse or broken wire. If there is power coming in to the switch it probably won't be coming out.

Re: power window problem

That is a relay. It isn't likely for it to be bad and I don't know for sure which fuse does the windows. That is why I would check for power at the switch.
