Differential Options
I need a posi/locking differential for my truck. It is a 72 lwb with a 350/th350 combo with 3.07 or 3.08 gear. The engine should put out a strong 350 horsepower and hopefully to 400 HP when headers are installed. With this kind of power I have a hard time keeping the rubber on the back right with an open differential. Series 3 I believe. The truck will mostly be street driven and to the drag strip a couple of times.
I priced two differential a Detriot TrueTrac and an Eaton Posi Trac. Which is the best choice for my truck. Pros/Cons Thanks Jamie

Re: Differential Options
a true-trac doesnt have any friction discs that wear inside, and ther non rebiuldable which is a downer. i remember hearing of a member here who broke one... i personally have installed two true-tracs and have had excellent results. highly reccomend a true-trac
the eaton carrier is what GM used in factory equipped posi trucks, i have one in my 71 k10, and in my 72 nova and havnt ever had a probleom. the one in my k10 is original, and begining to slip but they can be rebiult. i would go with the eaton unit, because i think there about 100$ cheaper than the true-trac, and the quality and performance is great |

Re: Differential Options
The prices i got were $20 difference so that doesn't help much on the price to narrow things down. Any other opinions. Thanks Jamie
