flexplate help
i just replaced my 87 350 with a 83 350 untell i get the motor rebuilded. well any how the starter is not engage all the way on to the fly wheel the tranny is a 700r

yes i am the one off the 83 350 the 83 had a th350 behind it

Will the starter not hit the fly wheel? If not try to shim it some.

No, i have had a 700 and 350 with the same fly wheel.

the stater is only going half way on the flywheel the bushing at the end will not let it go any farther and half way on to the flaywheel and yes i have shimed it

http://www.innerauto.com/includes/im...vy_starter.jpg go here and look at the starter the one on the left at the nose on the starter and u can see were the gear hits the bushing

I would put both flywheels side by side, maybe one is offset and requires a longer nose on the starter. If there different I would use the flywheel off the 87
