WIW - 68 C-30 Dually Ramp Truck
I have already talked to the Zoo Crew about this, just looking for
a lil help from my buds here. (I don't really need this thing) What do you think it's worth based on just my descriptions below alone, 1968 C-30 w/ a 192" wheelbase (His measurements) V-8 (Again his description probably a 350 or a 307) Automatic (Based on info here probably a 400 turbo) It Runs, Drives, and Stops (Motor noise after warm-up) Bench Seat, Chrome Simulators, No A/C or Thrill items Ramp bed (Not wedge) and 3 yr old Warn 9000 lb winch I think I'm going to snatch it up, trying to get a feel for the value.

Re: WIW - 68 C-30 Dually Ramp Truck
I have seen two in the Seattle area that both run. I recall they were about $1900-$3000. I would love to have one but not sure what I would use it for since I don't really want to buy and sell that many trucks...LOL!

What I usually do, check ebay under completed items and you will probably find something similar under the commercial vehicles category, wreckers, flatbeds. I've seen a lot of the ramp trucks under that category. Remember in completed items, items with the price in green sold, red didn't sell.

here's a link. you'll have to sign in to view it because they're completed items. You'll see links near the top "flatbeds" and "roll-offs", I'd check both, or just brouse thru the 500 items.

Re: WIW - 68 C-30 Dually Ramp Truck
Craig, I think that's not something that most of us price on a day to day basis. I've never really looked at any so I have no idea what they're worth. What does a comparable 73-87 cost. If you bought a newer one with a junk cab (or a good cab and sold it) would it be cheaper to swap a 67-72 cab to the newer chassis? Again, I don't know squat about the heavier duty trucks.

Re: WIW - 68 C-30 Dually Ramp Truck
I bought a decent one a month ago for 900 needed brakes and and tires. The cab and chassis were in good shape and the ramp was a modified old style ramp lift out of a service station.
Sold it for a modest profit 5 days later. Put it were people can see it and you would be surprise the interest. Steve |

Re: WIW - 68 C-30 Dually Ramp Truck
It may not be of any help to you, but I have turned down more than one SERIOUS offer of $4000-$4500 for mine. On the other hand, these guys see my truck being driven and used all the time, and they know that I've made a whole lot of money with this truck. These guys want it stricty to use - they could care less if it were a 67-72. Mine is a '69 with a 16 ft ramp bed. My wheelbase is around 168 inches, so I'm assuming that would be a longer bed on his. My has a 2 yr old 383 with SM465, and Dana 70.
I know you said you don't "need" it, but let me tell you that you can make a lot of money with one, especially if you own or have access to some land to store old junkers. Between what I've sold on Ebay and hauling scrap with this truck I would crazy to let it go for anything close to 4K. My brother and I hauled 38 cars back in my June and after stripping the wiring and aluminum and getting $8.00/hundred pounds for the junkers we made over $14,000 in a little less than month. The last pic is a '69 GMC C3500 Dump truck I hauled in just last night!

Re: WIW - 68 C-30 Dually Ramp Truck
BTW, I have been using a Warn 8000# planetary gear winch for 4 years now saying that as soon as it died I was going to put a bigger winch on it. I have to double line in sometimes, but I have pulled countless cars and trucks with no wheels tires and somtimes no spindles or rearends.

I'm about 80 miles from you in Valley on I-85 right on the AL/GA line. In fact, we are on the last exit in Alabama heading towards Atlanta.
