Drop coil question
I realize that there are probably several posts on this subject, but I rarely until now visit the suspension board. Anyway, I was thinking about getting the 2/4 drop coils from Early Classic. I have a coil spring truck, and I am looking for a lower stance. What all is involved in changing over to drop coils? They do not mention any changes of other suspension parts in their catalog, i.e. shocks etc.

Mine is a 4/6. Had to put a c-section in the rear. The frame hit the diff. So I am in the process of getting the disc conversion done so I can get it up on the road and see how it rides. I don't think you have nothing to worry about on the 2/4. I would go with drop spindles in the front and keep your regular front springs and go with the 4" coils in the rear. This way if you want to go lower to just put the lower coils in.

What all is involved in changing over to drop coils?
It is very basic overall, remove the old spring replace the new one. However, with a 4" drop, I would a) get new shorter shocks or b)get lowered shock mounts. This way you keep same ride feel. Hope this helps. Good luck

Okay thanks, that cleared it up. I will probably get shorter shocks instead of relocating the mounts.
