1972 C10 Stepside Longbox Question

I am thinking about going to check out a 1972 C10 that's for sale in my area. Ad says it is a "stepside longbox". Just wondering how common stepside longboxes are, and if having one increases the value of the truck any.

Re: 1972 C10 Stepside Longbox Question

Not sure how common they are, but pretty sure it isn't any more valuable than any other long bed, probably less.

Re: 1972 C10 Stepside Longbox Question

Step side long beds are hard to find. I looked for along time for one when i had my '71 Cheyenne. I've only saw a couple. I doubt it would increase the value of the truck any, but i think a slammed, primed, flamed long bed step side with a fender mounted spare would be really cool.

Re: 1972 C10 Stepside Longbox Question

I am still debating whether to go and look at the truck or not. Its got a 6 cylinder with a 3 on the tree, supposedly runs and drives great. Has a little rust damage to the cab and some to the bed. The owner is asking $600 OBO for it. I really don't need another project, what with my 79 and two tractors to finish. But I guess it doesn't hurt to go and look right?
