new truck
i got this about 2 weeks ago. i traded my 64 nova for it. it's rust free.
it's titled as a 66. but the cab looks like a 63. how do i tell what year the chassis is ?? and is there a way to tell for sure that its a 63 cab ??? any numbers or anything. |

Re: new truck
Nice truck! It's got a 63 cab and front clip. I like the rims. That thing would look nice lowered with wide whites.

Re: new truck
yeah, its got a borg warner in it .
why do you ask ??? and i need to get rid of the tires. the guy had the white walls done. then they turned brown. and hes got 235's in the front and 265's in the back. i need to get a set of tires. then im thinking of getting the 3 inch front and 4 inch rear springs. im just worried about how much the ride will change. Re: new truck
To me the wheels don't fit with the truck. Maybe it i just the hub caps. Just my opinon. What did the Nova look like? It looks like a pretty nice truck from what I can see.. I think if I get another one I would like to put a 5 speed in it instead of an automatic.

Re: new truck
Your vin plate looks like it's pop-riveted on. Explains the title/cab mis-match. Looks supper clean though!

Re: new truck
I agree with Fleetside , the wheels don't go with the overall look of the truck . Since it's already a 5 lug setup , you have an almost infinite choice to choose from . It really is a great looking truck !

Re: new truck
nice As for me I like the wheels, but man wide brown walls ? trippy. Try bleaching them or see if they can be buffed out

Re: new truck
yeah, I like the wheels also, kinda has an old school wood-spoke look to it.
I think it is the brown walls that screw it up.... |

Re: new truck
i tried cleaning them. no luck. they need to be repainted with more layers of white paint. thats not going to happen.
i'll either buy some wide whitewalls or ill get some blackwalls. i'd get white letters but i dont think they will fit with the wheels. thanks for all the comments everyone. |

Re: new truck
Not a 66-5-4 round headlight bezels and the dogleg on the doors and wrap around window. Nice truck though.

Re: new truck
Post the VIN information here and it can be read. It is located on the driver door jamb. If the first number is a 1, it is a 1961 VIN tag. If the first number is a 2, it is a 1962 VIN tag. If the first number is a 3, it is a 1963 VIN tag. It is a '60-'63 due to the panoramic windshield and the door shape. The grille is a 1963,for sure.
In any case, you have a nice rig. Keep us posted on your upgrades/changes. |
