Do a search. Someone said they would not do it again, as I recall. Lots of work. You can still get the vent window assembly from Chevy, if that's the problem area.

Just for something to do? I would not tackle it, but you may want to. I changed out my old door with a new one. Pulling the internals out and replacing them was QUITE a job.

I think you are confusing the 67-72 kit with the 73-87 kit. Some did say that about it...

I honestly have only gotten negative feedback on the ones I sell for the 73-87's from 1 customer, and it was 5 months afterwards when he wanted to return it.

I have talked to 1 customer about the 67-72's it is listed in the appropriate board.

Re: Solid Piece Glass

I just put the drivers side in Saturday. It's not really all that difficult of a job and the only pain in the azz is the new front guide channels need to be in a very specific spot.
The instructions and templates don't take into consideration the differences in the doors from 73-87.
Now I remember someone with a 73-87 having a problem rolling his one piece glass all the way down. I do not have that problem. My windows roll up and down fine but the glass doesn't want to track into the felt right now. I see in the instructions that the felt needs a break in period, so we'll see.

Thanx Chris!
I really think its going to work out ok.
Right now its just mocked up, the wipers aren't mounted permanently and the shims aren't all in.
I just went out and took a few pics of the glass and you know what it looked like?................Nothing!
Hehe. It reminded me of that movie with Michael Keaton "Gung Ho"
The big executive comes in to see if all the cars are done and Michael Keaton pretends he's cleaning the windshield, but there is no windshield.
then the big wig says ""I rrrike you! You make me rrraff!"

I'll try and get it outside and get some good pics later.

Re: Solid Piece Glass

Definitely don't mount the scrapers until you are happy with the way it rolls up and down. The spacers are just there to keep the glass from going to deep into the channel. Only add what you need...

Can't wait to see the pics.

Re: Solid Piece Glass

I like em. I think they fit the style of truck I'm building.
The wing window was nice for certain things...like when you lock your keys in your truck. (but I've never done that)

But with no door handles, you can bet I'll have a manual cable tucked away somewhere just in case.

Re: Solid Piece Glass

I had some trouble with the one piece windows. I cant get them to roll all the way down because they hit the front of the doors were the hinges bolt on.I ground down the built in nuts on the inside of the doors and installed the short bolts that came with the kit. If I try to move the glass run back the window will not seal at the front lower corner of the window. I think that they glued the shoe on the bottom of the one peice glass in the wrong spot. but all that aside I still think the kit is pretty well thought out and looks great when installed I will definatly consider this for my truck when I get started on it this summer.

trixter99, what exactly is hitting at the front? The glass or the bracket? Did you get it from me?

Captkaos .... No sorry we did not get the kit from you I believe the owner of the truck got it through Gasoline Alley in Vancuover B.C. The glass is hitting the inside of the door at the front edge.

Is it your truck? I may can help you troubleshoot it? It is probably too tight to get a pic, but where is it hitting the door? Top, middle, bottom? If you loosen the rear bracket will it go down? Is the door GM or aftermarket? Power or manual?
