1972 Chevy Pickup Ignition Problem
Howdy everyone. I have a 1972 chevy pickup with the ignition in the lower dash, right below and left of the ash tray. The lock cylinder went bad so I bought the new cylinder with the new keys. I stuck a pin in the small hole by where the key goes in, and could not get the old cylinder out. Does anyone know if there is a certain trick to getting the old one out? I even tried to take the entire switch out but had no luck with that either. Any help would sure be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike |

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Ignition Problem
Search this site.........it is covered all through here........
You have to have the key in it and a pin or paperclip in the little hole for it to come out.

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Ignition Problem
From Washington. Its been a long time but I think you have to put the key in, turn it to accessory then put the pin in and turn the key until it pops out. I could be wrong its been a long time I just tried every combination until it came out.
