How to adjust Ignition Switch????????
89 K1500. Been having a lot of trouble with the starter, replaced everything but the switch. Now I'm replacing it, it needs to be adjusted, it and the other switch that mounts beside it, both have a rod, coming from the key switch area, both have slots for adjustment. Can't find the procedure in my Helm manual, anybody know how it needs to be done? Sure could use some help with this, thanks fellas!

Re: How to adjust Ignition Switch????????
The switch that you are talking about has 2 screws in it, the screws need to be loosened not removed and the switch slid forward or back until the ignition key operates in normal clock positions.

Re: How to adjust Ignition Switch????????
Thanks, I got it running, but have to turn the key farther than normal , or farther than I was turning it with the old switch, I'll fix it tomorrow. Had already put everything back together when I found that out, put off till tomorrow fixing it right.

Re: How to adjust Ignition Switch????????
The switch should have come with an alignment pin, a little usually green thumb tack looking thing. With that in you slide the switch down till it makes contact then tighten bolts and remove the pin. Then you remove the bottom bolt and hook up the dimmer switch. If it didn't come with the alignment pin you can still do this method you just have to be VERY careful that the switch is in the off posisition, and you don't shift it while tightening.

Re: How to adjust Ignition Switch????????
Thanks fellas, I think Igot it, i slid the switch down till it would start everytime, and seems to be in the correct position for all the functions, at least they all work, and if I didn't get it this time I at least know what to look at. Thanks!!
