Buddy bucket question..
I have buddy buckets in my 72...I also have a factory original console in the same parchment color I would rather have in there. Is it possible to take the center seat out and mount the console in there? or do I have to have bucket seats without the center bracket to have a console? or do I have to rig something up to mount the console to the center bars the buddy bucket os mounted to. any ideas? all help much appreciated. Oh, and are the buddy buckets rare? or are they more common. thanks in advance!

Re: Buddy bucket question..
Buddy buckets were only found in 67-68 trucks. So, yes they are "rarer" than the 69-72 buckets, but they are still out there. Never heard of anyone doing the console like that. Most install them because of the center seat. I would suggest you find a set of factory 69-72 buckets sell the buddy buckets. Here's a picture of one set I have. If you decide to sell, I might be interested as I'm trying to find a set for the rear of my suburban.

Re: Buddy bucket question..
its odd u say that...mainly because my grandpa was the original owner...he actually pre-ordered it in late 71 so he got the 72 right when it came out, and the seats in it are the seats that have always been in it with the parchment trim. he has never changed the seats. so maybe ur info that they only came in trucks is off? or did he get a weird option? cause I know he never took the seats out..

Re: Buddy bucket question..
Depends on condition and color. Anywhere from $300-$700.

Re: Buddy bucket question..
parchment white, great cond...so how is it I have buddy buckets when they only came in trucks? Could it have been a special order? cause it matches the rear seat perfectly.

Re: Buddy bucket question..
They were in suburbans, campers even big trucks. But they were only available in 67-68. Someone must have put them in. Do you have pictures?

Re: Buddy bucket question..
Maybe you have "utility bucket seats". I know that was an option for the blazer. They look similar to the buddy buckets. Do they have a hard back?

Re: Buddy bucket question..
Post a picture of your seats and that middle seat.
Do you have the standard buckts, or the utility buckets? The standard buckets have a plastic back, and the utility buckets have a metal back. The utility buckets are also a bit wider.

Re: Buddy bucket question..
Sounds like that solves your problem, just bolt the center console in, .

Re: Buddy bucket question..
ok, plastic backs, and yes, problem solved...but what type of buckets do I have? heres a pic of the middle seat..pls excuse the dirty floor. the reason I want to put the console in is the jump seat is pretty stained, and I like the looks of the console better..so do I have standard buckets?

Re: Buddy bucket question..
You have stock buckets. A stock console will bolt right in the middle.

Re: Buddy bucket question..
Those are the standard Blazer bucket seats, you should be able to just bolt the console in.. Well .. you may have to drill 4 holes.

Re: Buddy bucket question..
The center seat isn't factory. It may have come from the dealer though. My guess is the dealer unbolted the console, and bolted that seat in its place.
It sure would be something to find that old console sitting in some corner at that dealership.

Re: Buddy bucket question..
its pretty neat, it fits the floor perfectly, and it matches up with the buckets in height perfectly. I mentioned it b4, but I have an original parchment console ill put in there, not sure what to do with the little jump seat thing, do u think its worth selling? or should I keep it?

Re: Buddy bucket question..
It isn't anything factory. Either your grandfather put it in or the dealer put it in. The truck could have been a demo that someone altered.
It probably isn't worth much. Have you considered altering it so the seat bottom will flip up and building a storage box under it. You could have both a console and a seat.
