Hello From Ohio
Hey, I joined the board a while ago to start learning about my new truck. Well, not new, really. It's a 1970 C-10, long bed, step-side. It's been lowered a bit (haven't looked at exactly how much yet, but it's even all around). Nice big 295 tires. Good look to it. It has a relatively recently rebuilt 283 with a Holley 4150 and some 4-into-1 headers. The old 3 on the tree was replaced with 3 on the floor. Much cooler. Little rust in the typical places. It's a cool truck. Much better than the '81 Ford I had before this. I'll post some pics later on.
It had a knock when I got it. There was a really long main cap bolt, with some washers on to make it reach the actual cap. New set of ARP bolts and that was solved. Now I just need to get the tranny working right. It just isn't shifting right. Then I can get to enjoying it. Off to search for some advice! Aaron |

Re: Hello From Ohio
Thanks for the welcome. As promised, here are some pics of it. Needs some more TLC, but a good truck to start.
Not the best pics, but you get the idea. I really liked the stance on this thing. Aaron Last edited by kurchev; 02-01-2008 at 11:35 AM. |

Re: Hello From Ohio
Well, I'm looking for either a 4-speed manual or an overdrive box for it first. The original 3-speed leaves a bit to be desired. The engine is in good shape, so no plans there for now (283 V8). There's a good bit of rust, and some old bushings, so I'll probably get into replacing sheet metal and bushings soon. No crazy plans for now though. I'd love to do a full frame-off resto someday, but I have too many other projects right now. Working on a Nissan 240SX Auto-X car, and a 1970 Datsun 510 full frame off (well, it's unibody, so just all parts off). I'm really a sport compact enthusiast, but I loved the look of this truck. Of all the classics out there, this one just did it for me.
