Choices of cab sealers -

I went back to the paint store to get some 3M automix 8308 and 8307 to seal the seam on my cab roof, and the applicator "supposedly" was $150. They also had some Evercoat Maxim OEM Bead-type seam sealer (822) and self leveling sealer (824) here's the web site that describes the products:

They are both 2-part sealers and say they are every bit as good as the 3M product, except you can use a regular caulk gun to apply - it's got a 2-part mixer built in. A tube is around $35.00 vs $35.00 plus the expensive applicator for the 3M product. Has anyone ever used this? I don't need to spend a bunch of money for an application tool I'll use once, but on the other hand, I want the stuff to last, and not have to do it again in a couple of years. Has anyone used the Evercoat???

Eastwood has a seam sealer you can apply with a caulking gun. Works great

If you go to autobody sales online you can find the applicator cheaper. I bought one at a local NAPA for $90 and one of the low lifes working at the shop that was painting my truck stole it when he quit. The 3m stuff works great but is awful pricey, never used any of the other stuff but I would think that any reputable sealer that is self leveling woud be ok.

I bought the good sealer at my local paint store, and they had a deal where you basically "borrow" the gun. You pay for it, then they credit you back if you return it within a few days & it still looks good.
