Question Pics of Master Cylinder Plumbing 67-70's w/ Discs

trying to get some ideas on brake line routing (under the hood) since I have installed a disc brake kit, master cylinder, and disc brake proportioning valve..... any pics would be appreciated!!!!

and..... has anyone double flared their own lines? I performed a search and found some posts but does anyone have some words of advise on flaring tubing?

thanks!

No pics but there was a great write up on double flaring and bending tubing in one of the truck mags a couple months ago. It's been years since i did any double flares but the trick is to not split the tubing at the flare.
You might try Classic Trucks or Custom Classic Trucks website for the article.

tcb-1,... most auto parts stores that "loan" or "rent" tools should have a Double flare tool. It's actually pretty easy once you do a couple. Get some extra brake line (or old line) and practice a little. Or you could contact Inline Tube or ECE and buy pre-bent factory lines. I bought a tubing bender and double flare kit years ago and it's well worth the investment. (plus you can use it for steel fuel lines) You don't use it all the time,... but when you need it,... it's the only thing that will work. I think some of the conversion disc brake companies make a "longer" rubber brake line (that attaches to the caliper) for the 67-70 truck. The 71-72 trucks have the rubber line connect on the "opposite side" of the crossmember compared to the drum brake trucks. Talk to Stan at ECE. They will be glad to help you out. If you were closer,... you could borrow mine.

Panel,
I think Classic truck ran that article. As a matter of fact, it's online becuase that's where I found it.

Lo,
Hey man, thanks for the offering on the tool. Well, I do have a flaring tool right now and I have "kind of" figured the flaring thing out. I saw a handheld hydraulic flaring apparatus that looked very interesting, but blowing $300 on a tool I'll only use once is ridiculous!

BUT, I think I won't need to flare any tube right now. I have snaked the tubing that's attached to the frame (right below the master cylinder) so that it is mating up pretty good to the new proportioning valve.

Oh yeah, Lo. I did get new flexible brake hoses with my kit from GMCPauls/McGaughys. So I'm good there.

On a tangent note note, I have really starting using NAPA for all of my brake fittings and adapters. They by far have the most brake related items I have found.....
