Re: H-Pipe Question
i work in a muffler shop (23 years now). an "H" pipe will mellow out your exhaust if it's a little too loud and supposedly help out on low end torque. i can't verify the low end torque thing but it will mellow it out.

Re: H-Pipe Question
My flowmasters (under the cab with turn downs on the mufflers) would bubble when I let off the throttle. The H-pipe fixed that. It also helped the low RPM drone a little. Nothing major performance-wise.

Re: H-Pipe Question
paint a stripe on each pipe, take the truck/car out and run it pretty hard. lift it up and you'll see the "hot spot". thats where it should go but sometimes it's not feasable to install it in that exact spot.

Re: H-Pipe Question
I've heard people say to take a white crayon and make a mark on the whole length of the exhaust. After you have ran the engine for a while, the wax closest to the headers will melt but at the point where the wax has'nt melted and the mark becomes visable is where the h-pipe should go.

Re: H-Pipe Question
we use black spray paint. you'll see the "hot spot" where the paint will be burned but like i said, it's not always feasable to install the "H" in that exact spot. dang transmission is usually right in the way, lol.
