what is the difference between the 69-70 scroll seats and 71-72 scroll seats

The scroll pattern was one of the differences.

i just recovered a set of 69-70 buckets and used a set of 71-72 covers.
not sure if thats what you are refering to, or not. i had to add foam around the perimeter of the lower half because the 71-72 buns are a little fuller around the sides, (i gonna get greef over that one)the uppers fit okay, although the indented areas for the insert or middle of the seat where the scroll patterns are , seem to be wider on the 71-72 as well. the end result was pretty good just a little more work.
