Question for North Carolina members and anyone else

I bought a camaro off evil bay and got a bill of sale as the car is 31 yrs old. what the bmv in ohio is saying they will not issue a title off a bill of sale gottal love ohios messed up laws. I cannot see spending over 200 dollars for a service to obtain a title and then send it to me notorized out of their name and into mine. I spoke to a local bmv lady which is a friend of a friend and she said that the title services have offices in all 50 states and they apply for the title in the appropriate state then transfer it to your name for a fee she suggested if I know of anyone in NC that they could do the same for a whole lot less cash and be perfectly legal So I guess what she means is have a person file for the title for a fee and have them transfer it to me and poof legal paper on my car. Is there anyone who has done this sort of thing because I want to title the car and do not want to do anything illegal , any advice would be much appreciated. Also I have another car with a title and to take 2 and make on requires an inspection by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and I would need to show proof of purchase on every nut and bolt to get a reconstructed title which is basically a death sentence to the resale value of this car. So any ideas other than crushing or parting the car out would be much apprectiated mike

as far as I know in NC we have to have both parties present to sign the title over in front of a notary. Without that the only way I know to do so is with an indemnity bond. I would contact the dmv in Raleigh and ask them how to get one out of state.

If you have the out of state bill of sale, call the Canton office. They just did a title for my friend that bought one in Georgie. If not, call around to the different county offices and someone will do it for you. Good luck! I have almost the same problem.
