Radio Patch Panels

Does anyone make a patch for the area around the radio? My trucks PO hacked it up bad and I want to put an original radio (or one that looks original) back in there.

Re: Radio Patch Panels

I made a patch panel from an scrap dash. The dash in my truck was already painted but the radio knob area had been removed leaving a rectangular area.
Rather than trying to weld in a patch, I used epoxie to attach a patch to the dash. It is not as nice as welding in and refinishing a patch but it does work. Now I can listen to the radio while I plow!

Here is a pic.

Re: Radio Patch Panels

I haven't ever seen one patched that way, but I think it looks pretty good. I think if I were to do it I would try to make the corners of the patch have the same radius as the indention for the radio.

Re: Radio Patch Panels

I used a two part epoxie like you buy at Hardware stores, nothing special.

If I do another patch, I will radius the corners if there is room as see ten suggested.
