Spin Tech mufflers. Anybody run them???

I’m looking at Spin Tech mufflers. Any body run them and if so which ones and how do you like them? I’ll be running 2 ½ inch with an X pipe. I really want to know how they sound.

If not Spin Tech what do you run and why??

Thanks in advance

Re: Spin Tech mufflers. Anybody run them???

I had them in my jeep that i just sold. Had a pretty hot 350 in it with 2 1/2" pipe. It wasn't much lowder than 2 chamber Flowmasters.

The sound is completely unlike anything you hear. The only thing i can compare it to is a top fuel car, when you can hear the pop of each cylinder when it fires. Thats what they remind me of. I will be running them for sure when i am done with the 6cyl. and bump to the V8.

Re: Spin Tech mufflers. Anybody run them???

I am running the Spintech Sportman XL mufflers on my 1972 Olds. They have a very deep tone at idle and a great sound with no resonance at driving speeds. I bought the stainless steel version. They are very well constructed and are very heavy. Be sure to use good hangers.

Re: Spin Tech mufflers. Anybody run them???

This has got my attention…..I don’t want an exhaust that will sound like every 5.0 Mustang in town! Everyone has Flow Masters and I’m looking for something different.…..

What series were you running? Cause I want those!

1970 CST Short Wide - I have been considering what to change my setup to, and what you mentioned is my exact plan. (add X-pipe, and Spintech's). I currently have Mello-Tone single chamber's on the 2-1/2", with long tubes.

Orange Exhaust Note

Re: Spin Tech mufflers. Anybody run them???

I had them on a '91 s10 that I put a '96 LT1 with 6 speed manual tranny in. This was back in 2000.I wanted a sleeper look so I had a single 3" exhaust out the side, factory style. I loved those spintechs!! At idle a nice rumble, even cruising, nice rumble with no resonance. But Lordy when you got on it, she would bark something feirce. Louder than 2 chambers when you romped on it, but quite like 50 series at cruise. My wife even liked the way they sounded, and she doesn't normally like loud exhaust. It was easy to hold a conversation at cruise on the freeway too. Really well constructed. I had them before they were getting popular and they were still really cheap. now they are getting more pricey, but still worth it IHO. Hope this helps!

Re: Spin Tech mufflers. Anybody run them???

I had a set of custom headers made for my blown BB in my 2wd Jimmy. The shop that made them is Lemons Headers in Paso Robles. They are a high end exhaust/header shop that does cars such as the F-Bomb camaro. The shop owner says that 9 out of 10 customers are going with the Spin-Techs... for what thats worth.
Thats what we will be using.... Tom
