Turn signal works some of the time
Ive got problems with my right turn signal. It works about 1/4 of the time, seems like it follows no pattern as to when it decides to work. It has a new bulb. Could it be the turn signal switch?
The left side always works perfectly.

Re: Turn signal works some of the time
could be a bad bulb socket, next time it goes on the fritz, leave the turn siginal on and get out and check to see if one or both of them is "on". if just one is out then i would check the socket of the one that isn't working.

Re: Turn signal works some of the time
Also check that both bulbs front & back are of the same number, I.E. 1157 or 2057.
Intermixing these numbers will cause the lamps on the effected side to act as you've described. They do look alike but the 2057 is a bit heavier duty bulb and will last a bit longer + it's just a bit brighter bulb as well. As soon as I can find my bulb specs catalog I'll post the exact differences.

Re: Turn signal works some of the time
Sounds like you have the same bulb configuration I have/had in my '90 burban I take it you have single headlights and not duals on each side of your blazer correct? If this is the case then you should have 2 turn-signal lamps per side up front and just a single in the rear. #3057NA's with the flat "wedge" type bulb in front and the 2057 in back is correct. Your front SIDE MARKER LIGHTS also flash alternatly with the front turn-signals.
Here's what you do; Turn on your lights and do a walk-around. Making note of any bulbs that are not lit up to include your rear side markers and headlights. May as well check them all at the same time. Now reach in and turn on your HAZARD LIGHTS and again do a walk-around again making note of which bulbs aren't flashing but should be. Hit your HIGH BEAMS and check them too just for grins. Now set the parking brake or chock the wheels and put it in reverse to check your backup lights. Like I said you may as well check 'em all while your at it. If everything looks good then time to check the flashers. Your vehicle has 2 of them, one for turn-signal use and the other for HAZARD LIGHT use. They are identical in every way except location.one is in the lower right corner of your fuse block the other one should be mounted just above and to the right of your go fast pedal. swap them and check just your turn-signals again. Problem gone? Replace the flasher. Problem persists? start checking your ground leads and sockets on the problem side.

Re: Turn signal works some of the time
I've had problems with other cars getting dust and moisture in the hazard switch wich is part of the turn signal assembly. I got some silicone spray and worked it in around the hazard switch while working it back and forth and It worked for me. good luck bob

Re: Turn signal works some of the time
I found out the problem a while back.
It was just a flasher unit.
