Re: 80 stepside ideas?

first off welcome to the board
Im not a fan of lowered trucks but im sure it would look cool enough if you did a nice paint color and maybe shaved it some and put some nice wheels on it. If you do a stepside IMHO i think its nicest if you put one of them wood bed floors in it with the chrome strips in between the slats.
These old chevys are such great trucks that you really cant ruin them no matter what ya do to em... so how about some pics of your truck?

Re: 80 stepside ideas?

I would try and make it into a resto mod type thing.

Start by getting rid of those bars in and on the bed, then go over the body really well and lay down some killer black paint. Then redo the bed with stained oak wood and stainless steel strips.

Add some 20" billet/chrome wheels.

Lower 2" in the front and 4" out back. Bags are also an option just so long as you don't have to do a big notch and cut into the bed.

Do a little work to the motor, but nothing drastic. Intake, headers, exhaust; maybe a new manifold and carb. A simple dress-up kit will also go a long way.

For the interior, a stock resto with a moderate stereo system would do nicely.

I'd make it so I could do most everything myself and still not ahve that much money in it. Then go drive it.

I like trucks that aren't really over done. Laying frame and draggin' rockers is cool, but not for me. Keep it clean, keep it simple. I find that people tend to apreciate that sort of truck more...

Lok at N2TRUX's build thread for ideas and inspiration. Also, just say the word and I could even make a parts list for you...

Also, try this thread for some ideas: http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=204533
