I Joined The 69 Crowd! :)

Well, i sold my 82 C10 today and purchased a 69 GMC 1500 fleet LB from a friend. It is in very good shape but lacks a transmission (which I already have one in the garage). But I am going to do a 5.3L swap on it as I have also acquired one at no charge from my boss/friend. Didn't take any pics tonight while we were towing it due to the immense amounts of rain falling, so I will get some tomorrow at the shop and post...

Yeah, and plastic door panels too. At least we know that they would NEVER put a cable operated gas pedal in one of these trucks - uh oh!

Now that's funny right there! My toyota has turn signals in the bumper! So I guess you are implying they drive imports? If so, I just sold an import cause my 82 was that way! That's not right!!!

I'm another one with a parking light-less bumper. Even my dyslectic '96 has no lights in the bumper! Geeze, a '69 and a '96.....and clean bumpers, too. Life IS good....

Nice looking truck. It looks like it will clean up. Get that bad boy outta the shop and put the spit shine on it! Somebody has put a Chevy fender on the pass side, but most all my trucks are mutts so I'm not hatin'!

Gotta put a trans in it first. It will be getting a 5.3L but that is going to have to wait a bit until I get the money for the 4L60E...So for now my 700r4 will go behind the 283...

It is also going to be lowered and bagged...but again, money will determine when I can do it.

We are just a little off on our love for these trucks, aren't we? Personally, running lights in the fenders just don't cut it for me... The original is always the best!

The first pic is an example of 68 Chevy or 68-72 GMC. The second pic is an example of a '69 - '72 Chevy fender. Notice the indention on the front edge of the fender. The third and fourth are pics of a '67 Chevy or GMC fender. The only difference in the '67 and 68's is that the '67 did not have marker lights.

Well, everybody knows 67's are best followed by '69 - 70's. I didn't think it needed to be mentioned that 67's are the mostest awesomest!!

I'm kidding. I love all of these trucks. I do have a sweet spot for 67's though.

Thanks for posting those pictures. I have always wondered what the different fenders looked like, side-by-side.
