Right now I have nothing and thinking of putting some speaker in my Blazer, but im looking for ideas.
If you have some picture or how you did it; if you made some thing custom. Last edited by VROD383; 02-20-2008 at 09:36 AM. |

I put mine where the air vent doors were, never used them anyway.

Re: Does any one have Idea's for Speaker
Very nice. The PO cut holes in the door for the stereo in mine that doesn't work. I plan to fill those in and put speakers in side panels in the back.

Re: Does any one have Idea's for Speaker
I used round 6" speakers because I had some handy, but oval speakers may fit better. I had to use some enclosures behind the speakers as the sound had a tendency to emit from the area of the wipers, but that might not have been to bad because you could listen to music with the doors closed.
My Jimmy has a half cab so it sounds pretty decent and it doesn't have the sound of a high dollar system but with a little planning it could have. I didn't spend a lot of money on the system because when the windows are down or the top is off it's hard to hear anyway. Buy the way, thanks for the comments.

Re: Does any one have Idea's for Speaker
Good idea, I would like to see some pics of them behind the seats.
I was just going to cut the doors in my roadster, just not sure. Music is a necessity when I drive.

Re: Does any one have Idea's for Speaker
When I've wanted to make quick and dirty forms for parts back in my boat building days I'd go to the lumber yard and buy a 4'X8' sheet of 2" closed foam rigid insulation. You can cut that stuff real easy. It files and sands with virtually no effort at all. Just rough cut two or three pieces about the size of whatever your building, then glue up however many you need for the thickness of your finished project. Cut, sand, file, smooth until you get the part shaped the way you want it, then use it as the buck to get your fiberglass mold.
That's over simplifying a little, but there's really not much more to it.

Since my interior was already stripped I welded in a piece at the top of the vent hole to make it round so I could use the round speakers.
