Points coil mounting
I believe it was 73-74 that still had points ignitions right? I was wanting to convert my HEI to an external canister style coil and I was wondering if anyone had pics of where the coil would be mounted trucks that came with points ignitions.

Re: Points coil mounting
as far as i know anything 74 and newer has the HEI the coil had a mount that was on the intake on the non linkage side of the carb or in front if it to the best of my recollection

Re: Points coil mounting
1975 was the first year for HEI. The original coil was mounted to the intake behind the carb, between the distributor and the throttle cable.
87-91's had remote coils also, they are mounted in the same place.
