? for PA. Board Members

This one's for my PA. peeps. I just found out I might be getting relocated back home sometime this year so it's got me to thinking about my truck.

What would the inspection/emissions requirements be for a '68 registered in PA? Here in Texas, it's exempt from emissions and I was wondering if the same would apply in Keystone country...

PA inspections are a total racket....

They should post these instructions on PennDot's website:

Drive to service station
Apply lube
Bend over hood of car
Wait to be boned....
Unless you know somebody

Its not too bad depending on who you go to if you know what I mean...
Really, Brakes and tires above 2/32, horn, lights, wipers and washers work, no excessive play in any suspension component, windsheild not cracked or broken and exhaust doesnt have holes in it.... outside of that your clean!

Oh believe me, I know brother. That's why I was concerned about the truck. I'd sell it before I'd try to get it passed PA Emissions.

You guys in Ohio got it good.... If I had an Ohio Address my Nova would have a blower out of the hood higher than the roof!! Luckly I employee 10 inspection Techs so the pro street aspect is not an issue....

Re: ? for PA. Board Members

originally from PA. (pennstate area) and from what ive been told it went from 15$ to 60$ and its a VISUAL EMISSIONS inspection. good thing i dont live there anymore. i really have no problem with the yearly inspection cause thats just making it a bit safer on the roads knowing the guy beside me had good brakes,tires,etc.. they dont have the inspection here in phoenix but they do have emiissions here. not a big deal cause ive seen way more than enough blown vehicles running around. my bb 71 passed easy and it wasnt tuned worth a crap.
PA. wants to be more like cali. every year. i dont miss that place all that much (other than family, carlisle, maplegrove there aint much there)

In PA, emission testing is by county, I believe. Here in Adams County (Gettysburg area), no emissions testing. WOO HOO!!!

Will do, good to know there's some board members around Philly. If the relo. happens it would probably be between April and June. I should find out pretty soon. Not exactly sure where I would wind up. I lived in Havertown before I moved down here in 2004. With the cost of housing now, I might wind up looking in Delaware...

And yeah, I grew right outside Allentown; Catasauqua.

Cool, I grew up in Drexel Hill, worked in Catty for a long time. Looks like we did just the opposite on locations

You may be rite on buying, housing is high in that area. Delaware seems tobe where everyone is headed, well you got the Monster Mile anyway...
Depending on how far you want to commute, my area north of Valley Forge isn't too bad, taxes reasonable, LMK

Yep, I know Tarkett well. Small world.

Did you work there when they had that big fire back in like '83 or '84?

And you are right, that little part on the other side of the river is West Catty which, since that's Whitehall School District, is looked upon as foreign by those in Catty proper...

I think c10addict has it fairly close.
My truck was off the road for over 5 yrs. and when I put it in the shop it needed upper & lower ball joints, a radiator support was shot, and just the usual wiring issues due to faulty ground. Didn't have any problems with emissions. But..... it wasn't cheap. Cost me a grand after it was "passable".

Fire? How about blew the freakin' plant in half, ya glad we didn't lose anyone. Had it happened on day shift, we would have bin pulling bodies out. Once we got power back up, the paper mill kept workin', while the other half dug itself out. Froze my arse off that winter, no heat in the plant since the hole was so big. Lots of stories about that place

How about that other one, across the river. Rite next to the daycare. We were up on the roof drinking beer and hitting golf balls into the river when that one went up

Used to cash our checks on 3rd shift at Suzies

True...fire was a bit of an understatement....

Which other one? That big explosion over in Hanover Township or when all the old mills over by the George Taylor House burnt down?
