Third gen. Camaro cluster in 67-72 Truck
I'm new but I thought I would throw out this question. I see many people on the board talk about gauges but I haven't see much more than just different variations of what is already in the truck. I have taken a cluster from an 85 IROC and held it in the hole for the cluster. It fits really good and it has a tach and actual gauges instead of idiot lights. If I try this what problems would I encounter? It is pre 88 so it will have a mechanical speedo. So I think all the gauges would be as simple as tracing the wires to each gauges(volts, oil pressure, fuel etc.) Please let me know your input. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the board!
It should work out fine if you can trace all the wiring. Does your IROC cluster have the 145 MPH speedo?

BTW, Here's the gauges in my '82 Z28 street/strip car. I put an IROC cluster in it with the 145 speedo. I have templates for all the white gauges if you want them. It printed them on glossy decal paper, and they have held up great for about 8 years now.

Re: Third gen. Camaro cluster in 67-72 Truck
I don't actually have an IROC cluster. I just borrowed one to see if it would work. I don't nee a 145 mph speedo any way. I'll probably just get a 115 mph cluster. If you look at the pic in the last post I am goinh to try and use the 2 sides of the gauges also. The pieces that stick out and hold the headlight switch and cig. lighter. I also thought about the whole dash but I think it woud be to thick and stick out past the dash. Also I am trying abunch of different things. I am putting an overhead console in from a 96 Suburban. I have mounted 70 Camaro lights in the rear fenders but only the half that dosent have the reverse lights in them. I am also int he process of putting an NV3500 in it now and converting it to a side mount spare. I have a console from a Dodge Neon that has drink holders in it. It fits perfect up to the heater box. I have a tilt column out of a 70's Chevy van to boot.

Re: Third gen. Camaro cluster in 67-72 Truck
Not necessarily a good one but just an idea. I saw a 67 chevy pickup with a complete dash out of a 88-94 chevy in it. Kinda ruined the inside of the truck for me but looked like it fit nicely and if you're wanting to upgrade with something newer there's an idea for ya.
