Drivers side battery tray?
Does anyone know where you can get a drivers side battery tray for your 57-72 truck, I had a 71 years ago that had dual batteries, I havent been able to find one since.
Any info on this would be greatly appriciated.

You'll have to search the threads, I don't have the link anymore. There's a company that makes them in canada.

Re: Drivers side battery tray?
PS - as a point of note, and this is important: '67 and '68 trucks DO NOT USE the same core support as the 69-72 do. the auxillary (driver side) battery tray provisions DO NOT exist on the 67-68 core support, so if you have a 67-68 be very well prepared to drill and tap holes for the battery tray.
Looks like you have a '72, but I like to share this little nugget 'o knolwedge with everyone who asks about the aux battery tray.

Re: Drivers side battery tray?
My '71 GMC didn't have holes for the aux battery tray either. Don't know if that's normal for them or not.
I can tell it was wrecked on that side at some point, so it could be a replacement from an earlier one. |

Re: Drivers side battery tray?
I think there are diff'ces between the 67-72 GMC radiator supports and the 67-68 and 69-72 radiator supports for Chevy trucks.
I know for a fact that the 67/68 Chevy rad support is diff't from 69-72 Chevy rad support. 67/68 doesn't have the bolt provisions, 69-72 apparently does (the rad support mounts are diff't for these two year ranges also)
