Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
A few members have requested side pics of my truck and the 4/6 drop and 285/70/15's. The fronts are 235/60/15's, gives a nice hot rod rake I get lots of looks in this truck

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
If your truck was lower in the rear would the tires rub? Oh and what size wheels are you running front and rear? Very nice looking truck.

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
Thanks CG, no rubbing at all. I don't have a c notch on the frame and have had more weight in the bed than I would like to say (axle on the frame) and the tires have plenty of room to roam.
It does have the adjustable bar back there, so side clearence loaded is not an issue.

Love that "fatty" rubber in the back.....just say NO to rubber band tires!
......and that color is way cool.....especially with the color keyed rally's!

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
It looks like an 8" wide rim with 4" bs is a good fit for most any wheel/tire combo on these trucks. Front and rear.
That 285/70 looks huge under there but sure fills out the fender opening.

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
Very nicely done - that color is neutral enough to look good without any chrome. My stock yellow '70 doesn't have any chrome, but I'm thinking that with a louder color, you have to have something to break up all that yellow. Your's looks great.

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
They are 8 inch wheels all around, 4 inch backspacing, you guys have a good eye
Static drop, no bags. I have the ECE kit, minus the 1.5 springs that they supply. I bought ground force 2 inch front springs I was recommended to buy from summit racing (cheaper than ECE) for a total of 4.5 inches in the front. I pulled a 1 ton sway bar from a wrecking yard and have that up front, I believe this is the large 1.25" one. No rear bar at all, handles quite well for what it is. The ride is good, a little bone jarring over rougher pavement but nothing too bad at all. It tracks well, does not bottom out in the rear with no c notch, unless I have weight back there (over 600lbs or so) I do not regret doing this suspension at all, very well set up. Thank you all for the compliments, it has been alot of work so far

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
This is how my`67 GMC will be.It has 4/6 drop and 8" wheels.I just have rollers on it until it gets put together.I`ve bought tires too soon before and regretted it.Tires on an occasional driver dry rot before they were out as it is.

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
I think that will look much better, not that it didnt look good already but unless the rear was dropped a tad more I thought the frts were a little on the small side...........I bet it looks way better now with a little taller tire in frt.

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
Thank you, I really thought the front tire was too small. Those tires were off of the Chevelle and got me rolling, but I finally got around to buying a taller tire the truck should look more balanced.
I will take more pics tomorrow, they sure look different

Re: Side pics ECE 4/6 drop and 285/70/15 rear tire
I like it too, I at first when I bought the tires I was a little aprehensive, but after they were installed my fears were put to rest.
It rides much better too, no more harshness over rutted/rough roads that those 60 series tires had.
