Radiator support Q..

Is there a difference between the GMC and a Chevy radiator support?? I was told that there was because of the double headlights, but I cant even find a GMC rad sup. to see a diff.

Thanks

Re: Radiator support Q..

If I'm not mistaken, the GMC core support is the same as the Chevrolet 67/68 core support except for the double headlights.

The LMC catalog on page 119 shows the same part no.s for both chevy and GMC with the only difference being AC. The headlights are mounted in the grills. Here is a pic. The vendors will be more knowledgeable and I'm sure they will jump in.

Yeah girl, that`s it.The supports are the same other than the light pans. It`s a bit tidious but you can move the light pans from a GMC onto a Chevy core. They don`t repro GMC cores. Is your`s bad? What kinda bad?Just the rust in the bottom? As long as it`s not at the frame mounts I just patch them. They can be patched there, too.Just need to reinforce with thick steel.

The headlights are mounted in the core support and the grille just frames them. The grille floats around the lights.

Just go home and make a joke up about it.You`re alright VetteVet,even though you ride those noisey motorcycles. An old man like you should be ashamed.

Re: Radiator support Q..

actually, if I am squinting enough, the listing doesn't include GMC at all. It has one part number for 67 and 68, then another for 69 - 72, but neither listing says GMC (jodie's burb is a GMC)

Re: Radiator support Q..

Hey Jodie, You would have yo buy a 67-68 Chevy rad support and remove your headlight buckets from your GMC support and install them on your new one. They are spot welded on. Tim
