Got the short bed home
What a miserable day to tow something down I5. Thw wind was blowins so hard at times that I was changing lanes. Anyway I got it home in one piece. The guy ditched the front bumper and gril because he sais it was too mangeled. Found out when I got there it's a big back window cab. I'll have pics later today or tommorrow.

Re: Got the short bed home
I know all too well the hazards of towing along portions of the 5. Glad you made it home safe, probably stoked on the big back window eh!

Re: Got the short bed home
I was also very happy when I found out the one that was "in a barn" was large back window also..
Why do people go nuts when they find one of these? Are they more rare than a small back glass?

I picked up a '63 parts truck North of Santa Rosa last storm, and I really feel you on trailering it back. Going across the Golden Gate with 50mph winds in a down-pour is no fun! Last edited by PrerunnerRob; 02-26-2008 at 08:22 AM. |

Re: Got the short bed home
The small back glass out numbered the big back glass 20 to 1, so they are more rare, due to the limited production numbers, however, the small back glass has it's advantages. I have a few of each and like both styles for looks and visibility. The small back glass is nice at night, due to reduced headlight glare, however, the big back glass is good when it comes to eliminating blind spots.
I like them both, but the big back glass is more of a rare bird, thus perhaps more desireable. Last edited by LILRED66; 02-26-2008 at 09:39 AM. |

Re: Got the short bed home
The guy i got it from took the springs out so it's just sitting on the frame. I am not sure if I'm going to bag it or use drop coils and spindle's.

Re: Got the short bed home
I don't know if it was on CL but someone posted a link to it on pirate4x4 for sale. I'm really thinking bags are a good idea.
