HELP!!! Pulley Set Up Questions.

Pulled the engine on my Jimmy to replace with this..

However, the new engine has a long water pump and the old one had a short pump. Can anyone recommend a pulley set up that will come with the correct brackets and everything that will work with the long water pump, ac, power steering, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Re: HELP!!! Pulley Set Up Questions.

Probably the easiest way is to change the water pump to a short one. But if you want to keep that one I think they went to a long water pump about 73 so there should be lots of the set ups out there. I know that the serpentine systems use the long water pump and they are sweet. I am using the serpentine on the 2 trucks that I am doing and love them.

Re: HELP!!! Pulley Set Up Questions.

I was thinking about changing to a short one, but then I'd be spending $200+ on a new polished one and spending money for new pulleys anyway. I was looking at the serpentine setups as well. Which ones are you using? Do they come with the correct brackets, or is that something I'm still going to have to hunt down? Thanks.

Re: HELP!!! Pulley Set Up Questions.

About the best serpentine out there is the 88-91 GM TPI non corvette set up. It requires the reverse flow long water pump and power steering pump though. A great set up.
You could sell the waterpump on e-bay to recoup some of your cost.

Corvette serpentines are great as well, just rarer and harder to find complete.

I am using one off a 91 TBI motor, works great and came with all the brackets. Plus I had the pieces powdercoated too.
